About Starlight

Are you a bank?+

No. Starlight Ventures Holdings (BVI) is a private project finance facilitation and structured-finance consultancy. We are not a retail bank or consumer lending institution. All facilities are arranged with our network of institutional lenders, underwriters and insurers.

Do you offer personal loans?+

No. We provide business funding only — to SMEs, mid-market companies, developers, and corporate entities. We do not offer personal loans, payday loans, consumer credit, or regulated mortgage lending.

Which jurisdictions do you cover?+

Cross-border by design. We routinely structure transactions involving BVI, the UK, the EU, Switzerland and the United States, and we work with clients and projects worldwide.

Eligibility & Suitability

What kind of clients do you work with?+

Established businesses, project developers, and entrepreneurs with serious projects — typically in energy, mining, real estate, infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, technology, logistics, or gaming. Our facility range is $5M–$500M+.

Is there a minimum facility size?+

We focus on facilities of $5M and above. Below that threshold, our preparation and underwriting costs are usually not economic for either party.

What if my project isn't lender-ready yet?+

That's where we add the most value. Most clients come to us with incomplete documentation, financials, feasibility, ownership or compliance information. We restructure and upgrade your file to lender-grade standard.

Process & Timelines

How long does the process take?+

Typical timelines run 8–20 weeks from initial consultation to disbursement, depending on file complexity, jurisdiction, and underwriting requirements. Fast-track processing is available on a case-by-case basis.

What does Soft Approval mean?+

Soft Approval (or Conditional Approval) means your file is approved in principle by our Credit Committee — pending final preparation for Hard Underwriting. It outlines indicative loan terms, facility size, conditions precedent, and next steps. It is not a guarantee of final approval.

What happens at Hard Underwriting?+

Full risk assessment, legal review, credit analysis, insurance review (if required), final facility structuring, and draft loan agreement preparation. This stage results in final approval or rejection.

Fees & Costs

Are there upfront fees?+

No upfront fees are charged before Soft Approval. Once Soft Approval is issued, an Application Fee becomes payable to upgrade your file to full lender-grade standard for Hard Underwriting.

How much is the Application Fee?+

It scales with project size: smaller projects €5,000–€15,000; mid-size €15,000–€35,000; complex/high-value €35,000–€75,000; very large facilities (€50M+) on a case-by-case basis.

Is the Application Fee refundable?+

Yes — it is placed with the Starlight Ventures Holdings escrow account and is refundable if the application is denied at the Hard Application and Underwriting stage.

Do you take security deposits or advance charges?+

No. Starlight does not collect deposits, security payments, or advance charges unrelated to authorised application or underwriting processes. Any fees are disclosed in writing and case-specific.

Compliance & Confidentiality

How is my information handled?+

Strict confidentiality applies throughout. Information is shared only with authorised internal personnel and approved underwriting partners as required to assess your file. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

What KYC/AML documents will I need to provide?+

Typically: company registration, beneficial ownership disclosure, IDs for principals, recent utility bill or proof of address, bank statements (with permitted redactions), and source of funds/wealth documentation.

Are you regulated?+

As a private BVI international business company we are not regulated as a bank or consumer credit provider. Our consultancy and facilitation services are conducted under BVI corporate law, with full AML/KYC compliance. External ombudsman schemes (UK/EU) do not apply.
